Readies For Hurricane Dean
August 21: The company
has returned to normal operations. Power, telephone
and internet services have been restored and
employees will be back at work on August 22, 2007.
No more bulletins will be posted about Hurricane
Dean.
August 21: Interlinc
Communications Offices will re-open on Wednesday
August 22, 2007. The storm did not cause any damage
or loss to the company, but we have been affected by
the national power grid outage. Our PSTN and Fiber
Internet connections have not been affected however.
All data and servers are secure and will be brought
back online on the 22nd.
August 19: Our offices
will remain closed through to Tuesday August 21,
2007 due to a mandatory closure order from the
Government. Further updates will be posted as
required.
August 18: Hurricane
Dean intensified overnight and is now a Category 4
hurricane with winds exceeding 150mph. Further
strengthening is expected over the course of today.
The storm is now expected to affected Jamaica on
Sunday morning with the severe conditions expected
on Sunday night. Interlinc Communications will be
closed until further notice, pending a damage
assessments following the storm.
All corporate and client data
has been backed up and is in now in secured storage.
Our offices have also been secured and we expect to
be able to resume operations shortly after the
passing of the storm, pending an assessment of the
damage to public infrastructure.
August 17: This is a public advisory that
Interlinc Communications will close its offices in
Kingston, Jamaica on Friday August 17, 2007 at
4:00pm due to Hurricane Dean's expected strike on
the island on Sunday. The storm is expected to
become a strong Category 4 hurricane with winds at
150mph before hitting Jamaica.
Depending on the severity, our
offices will remain closed on Monday August 20th.
With public
utilities likely to be affected, our offices
may lose power and telephone service during the
